WASHINGTON, February 16, 2011 – Innovative Solutions Group is proud to announce its Center for Field Data Automation and Mobile Computing has been selected as a finalist for a 2011 ACT-IAC Excellence.Gov award.  The ePermitting Remote Wireless Project at the Four Rivers Recreation Area in the Salmon-Challis National Forest, Idaho is one of twenty nominees to be honored at the JW Marriott in Washington DC on March 16, 2011.  Seven program winners will be announced at the awards ceremony.
Mobile Technologies Business Unit Director Shamoun Idrees says he’s particularly proud to be nominated in the “Enhancing the Customer Experience” category.  “Our objective on this project was two-fold.  Our team aimed to ‘wow’ the customer and facilitate better government through technology enhancement. To be recognized by the industry for our work on this project is an honor.”
Senior Technical Analyst Lewis Capolupo agrees a job well done is its own reward. “On paper this project looked simple, however implementation turned out to be a challenging process. In the end, the ePermitting Remote Wireless solution created a better working environment for Forest Service staff in the Four Rivers region. The fact that the customer is happy, to me, is what is the most rewarding.”
As an awards finalist Innovative Solutions Group receives the following rewards:

  • Five complimentary seats to the awards luncheon.
  • Recognition at the awards luncheon and in appropriate publications on the ACT-IAC website and related publications, such as press releases.
  • Each of the seven program winners will be invited to display their program at the 2011 Management of Change Conference to be held in The Homestead Hot Springs, VA, May 15 – 17, 2011. In addition, they will receive one complimentary registration to the conference.
