Innovative Solutions Group Project Scores Another Top Honor
WASHINGTON- February 23, 2011- For the second time in one week, the ePermitting-RemoteWireless Project at the Four Rivers Recreation Area is being recognized for outstanding contribution to U.S. Forest Service operations. The project has won the Forest Service’s Fiscal Year 2010 Business Operations Award in the category of ‘Excellence in Business Operations Support’.
ISG’s contribution to the project was noted in the award announcement. “This ground-breaking work has the potential for replication in other remote Forest Service locations. Project implementation was a collaborative effort between the Chief Information Office (CIO) staff, the Missoula Technology Development Center (MDTC), ISG (contractor), and the Salmon ChallisNF. Group members are John King, John Haugh, Robert Roth, Art Clinton, and Linda Walton.”
On February 17th the ePermitting-Remote Wireless project was also selected a Finalist in ACT-IAC’s Excellence, Gov award, recognizing outstanding achievement in the eGovernment environment. The ePermitting-Remote Wireless project was nominated in the ‘Enhancing the Customer Experience’ category. The project will be one of twenty finalists to be honored at the annual Excellence.Gov luncheon at the JW Marriott in Washington, DC on March 16, 2011.
Regarding the back-to-back honors, ISG’s Senior Vice President of Operations Robie Wood said, “Its great comfort to the project participants that this business solution is being recognized for making a positive contribution to Forest Service efficiency and effectiveness. More important, however, is the opportunity to communicate the merits of this innovation for broader adoption and realization of increased benefits to the public.”
