WASHINGTON, July 29, 2011 – Innovative Solutions Group has successfully completed the website redesign for the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS), an agency of the United States Department of Agriculture(USDA). NRCS Chief Dave White announced the new website in an agency-wide podcast, describing it as “Better organized, more interactive, and easier to maintain going forward.”

ISG’s Web Solutions team executed a seamless and cost-effective solution for the portal-based website, enhancing both the customer and webmaster experience. “This significant achievement was made possible by an experienced team of professional designers, engineers and analysts, who worked cohesively and effectively as a unit,” said ISG Director of Innovative Technologies, Paul Grimshaw. Grimshaw also lauded the “total team effort”adding, “ISG’s development team enjoyed a special working relationship with the NRCS stakeholders and gained the support of the NRCS CIO. Without that support this project may well never have come to fruition.”
The website modernization includes accessibility modifications, a user-centric design for better interactivity, improved agency branding and a consistent look and feel, as well as a more flexible framework allowing the Agency to keep abreast of industry trends.
“I am very impressed with how successful the web migration turned out!”said NRCS Public Affairs Specialist Elisa O’Halloran. “Thank you to ISG for all their hard work in getting the NRCS website up live and on-time.”
ISG’s Web Solutions Team successfully completed the design and implementation of the NRCS website with no disruption to the existing website and without inconvenience to the public. Not only did the NRCS website receive a modernized look, webmasters from units within NRCS can now share information and update content much more efficiently to reflect the most accurate agency information. ISG was able to offer the complete redesign at a moderate cost, leveraging processes and procedures from ISG’s previous workwith the U.S. Forest Service. The project took nineteen months to complete.

Phase 2 of the project, which will incorporate the 50 state sites, NationalCenters, and other outliers, is due to kick-off on October 1, 2011.
